Privacy notice
Effective 10 April 2026
This notice explains how IVU Electrical Ltd (“we”) collect, store, and use your personal data when you enquire, book a job, or visit our website.
Who we are
IVU Electrical Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12475596) with its registered office at 29 Ludlow Mead, Watford WD19 7DA. We are the data controller for all personal data described in this notice.
For any data-protection question, email mail@ivuelectrical.co.uk or write to us at the address above.
What we collect
When you submit a quote enquiry or contact us, we collect your name, phone number, email address, the postcode of the property, and any description you provide about the work.
When we carry out a job for you, we additionally record property details (address, circuit information, earth type), job history, quotes, invoices, payments, and the certificates we issue.
When you visit our website we use privacy-respecting analytics that do not identify individuals. No advertising cookies are set.
Why we collect it
To quote, schedule, deliver and document electrical work for you — this is a contractual necessity.
To comply with our legal obligations under BS 7671, the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020, and HMRC record-keeping requirements.
To contact you about EICR renewals, appointment reminders, and service updates that are in our legitimate interest as a trade firm.
How long we keep it
Quote enquiries that don’t convert to a job: 12 months, then deleted.
Completed jobs, certificates and invoices: seven years from the end of the tax year, to meet HMRC and regulatory requirements.
Marketing preferences: until you opt out.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We share it only with the processors we rely on to run the business: our email provider (Hostinger) for transactional email, our database host (Supabase) for records, and our accountant for invoicing.
We may share limited information with the emergency services or an insurer where life or property is in danger.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, to object to processing, and to ask for a copy in a portable format. Email us and we will respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
